A Place to Be Me: Creating welcoming and intriguing spaces for children

Play spaces that are vibrant and responsive enrich the lives and identities of children and families.
This interactive workshop will explore the possibilities of creating spaces that invite interactions and advocate for the child’s right for moments of solitude.

Participants will reflect on how space design can foster a sense of belonging and identity. Together, we will investigate imaginative ways of utilising cost effective resources within both indoor and outdoor environments.

Guiding Children’s Behaviour

This interactive workshop provides participants with the opportunity to critically reflect on their current behaviour guidance techniques. Participants will explore practical strategies to promote positive behaviours and create purposeful learning environments for children in Early Education and Care settings.

This workshop has a strong focus on the National Quality Framework including Quality Area 5.

Embracing ‘The Early Years Learning Framework

The Early Years Learning Framework provides educators with a common language to use when working with young children, however making that start can pose many challenging questions. How do we get all educators on board? How can we relate it to our setting? How can we share the information with families?

This professional session explores one service’s journey in how they embraced the Early Years Learning Framework. It provides opportunities for discussion on Belonging, Being and Becoming, the Principles, Practices and Learning Outcomes.

Communication and Team Building

Communication skills are essential for early childhood educators. This workshop is designed to highlight the importance of quality communication when working in early childhood. The workshop provides information on how to communicate effectively with others and the importance of working as a team.

This workshop explores:

  • Two-way communication
  • Communication barriers
  • Improving communication
  • Team building
  • Conflict resolution
